This initiative came about through an invitation of the Spirit from a former student of the Piarist Fathers in Venezuela who currently resides in Houston, TX. The initiative is already advanced, and it has the approval of Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, the Archbishop of Galveston-Houston, and Auxiliary Bishop George A. Sheltz. We also have the unconditional support of Father Pedro Aguado, Sch.P., who is our Superior General.
We are still in the formative stages. We are committed to be faithful in our charism among the poor, preferably working with Hispanic and African Americans in the area by being present in Catholic educational institutions and churches.
CURRENT BASIC NEEDS:
- Piarist religious and other personnel, who have a creative missionary spirit.
- Financial support, which is sufficient to establish ourselves and to ensure a permanent Piarist presence.
