About Our Youth Scholarship Program

Investing in Dreams: A Special Appeal from Colegio Calasanz

At Colegio Calasanz, our halls are filled with more than just the echoes of lessons; they are filled with the aspirations of young men and women striving to build a better Puerto Rico. As a cornerstone of Piarist education on our island, our mission has always been clear: to provide *Pietas et Litterae*—Piety and Learning—to every child, regardless of their background.

However, we are currently witnessing a heartbreaking reality. Many families who deeply desire a Calasanz education for their children are facing unprecedented financial barriers.

Bridging the Gap

The economic challenges facing our community mean that for many, the cost of tuition is a mountain they cannot climb alone. We believe that financial need should never be the end of a child’s potential. We are reaching out to you because you understand the value of a faith-based, rigorous education. Your support can be the bridge between a student’s current hardship and their future success.

Your Impact at a Glance

By contributing to our Scholarship Fund, you directly provide:

*Tuition Relief: Opening doors for students who would otherwise be unable to attend.

  • Holistic Growth: Supporting the spiritual retreats and extracurricular programs that define the Calasanz experience.

*A Brighter Puerto Rico: Empowering a generation of leaders grounded in Catholic values and academic excellence.

"The task of education is to help the student find the path that God has marked out for them."

Colegio Calasanz was founded in 1968 in San Juan by the Piarist Fathers, who have run it ever since. It is coeducational and university-preparatory, in close collaboration with families. The school follows the educational philosophy of Saint Joseph Calasanz based on piety and the letters.

The school has survived Hurricane Maria, the pandemic, earthquakes and a recent dwindling population. However, a committed and excited faculty, support from the Piarist province and a determined Piarist community at Colegio Calasanz, the school has turned a corner and once again is beginning to flourish. As Colegio Calasanz Director, Fr. Pedro Rivas Sch.P. would say, “little by little.”
